Little Episodes publishing released in 2010 its first collection of poems and short stories Back in 5 Minutes: An Expression of Depression Volume 1. This is only the first of a series of six anthologies that this London based publisher is meant to issue.
Back in 5 Minutes
This overwhelming collection features the short works and poems of writers like M.R. Wallis, Meghan Lamb, Nathalie Boisard-Beudin, Lorrain Jenkings, Rainer Wiseman, Mark Underwood, Aiden Cagney and Lucie Barat among many other leading-edge and straight, free thinkers and writers from all over the world.
All the stories selected are concerned with the issues of main interest that Little Episodes seeks to expose to the light like drug addiction, schizophrenia, personality disorder, depression and the fierce psychological, social or vital problems attached to them.
The Worlds Depicted
The authors of this collection masterly depict worlds sometimes rather dispassionately and morbid, but others however passional, although hopeless and sank in delusion. Overall the impetuous realism transmitted in these stories is immeasurable making the reader wish she would have never been born in this world.
At the same time, like all avant-garde art, the book offers certain peace and calm after so much chaos and suffering in vain, which is what all characters of the book seem to long.
Back in 5 Minutes' first anthology deals with outside and inner worlds perceived by its protagonists, people who may live only what they experience in their own recreated and secluded worlds found in their own minds.
But it also deals with leading characters who only know how to be in touch with crude, isolated, and sometimes marginalised, outside world full of people who either fails in understanding them - even if sometimes they wished - or who are pleased to take advantage of them.
Little Episodes
The publisher is owned by Little Episodes, a non-profit organization dedicated to matters such as depression, addiction and mental illness. The organizers as well as its followers are both professional and emerging writers, artists, musicians and actors.
The organization also seeks to wider the community and collaboration to continue promoting the arts as therapeutic means by holding various art workshops and events. They organise a very welcome party every last Saturday of the month, which usually starts on the previous Friday.
They also organised an exhibition at the CUC in London Bridge Bank, where they share with the community the endless source of creativity of the artists who collaborate with the platform.
With this first compilation "Back in 5 Minutes", Little Episodes starts the series of six anthologies that is planned to release in the near future with the collaboration of worldwide authors and new writers. The book is full of stories that raise the readers' awareness regarding mental illnesses, not just inborn but also provoked by all sorts of social experiences and situations.
The poems and short stories masterly reflect the harsh and desolate existence of their characters, victims of what their own afflicted and anguish minds have become.
